Cella

Cookie Policy

Last updated June 26, 2026

Draft — provided in good faith and pending review by qualified counsel before public launch. Not legal advice.

Cella uses the smallest possible set of cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't load any third-party analytics scripts.

Essential cookies (always on)

These are required for the app to work, so they don't need consent:

  • Session (authjs.session-token) — keeps you signed in after you use your magic link.
  • Demo (cella-demo) — marks a demo session so we can show sample data and block changes.

Local storage (on your device, not sent to us)

  • Your theme and a few interface preferences (e.g. whether you dismissed this notice).
  • Offline data for the installable app.

These live in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers.

How we measure shared links

When you arrive from a shared recipe or roast, we record the visit server-side using the link's own token and the referring site's host. This needs no cookie and stores no IP address — which is why you won't see a cookie-consent pop-up asking you to opt in to tracking. There isn't any tracking to opt into.

If this ever changes

If we ever introduce a non-essential cookie or a third-party tag, we'll add a proper consent control here first. See our Privacy Policy for the bigger picture.
